Christmas FM

Everyone's favourite festive station made a stockingful of charity cash this Christmas

Christmas FM broke its previous fundraising record.

CHRISTMAS FM SAYS that the station raised over a quarter of a million euro for charity over the course of the festive season just gonoe.

The not-for-profit station broadcasts Christmas music during December and this year raised a total of €265,000 for its nominated charity, Make-A-Wish Ireland.

This figure is a record-high for a station that has been running since 2008 and has raised over €860,000 for various charities.

Almost half of the money raised this year was pledged on their nominated ‘donation day’. More than €125,00 came on that day alone as DJs pushed for donations and an average of €10,000 was pledged every hour.

Christmas FM broadcasts from the Ballsbridge Hotel in Dublin with more than 100 volunteers giving their time for free to make it happen.

“We are completely blown away by the generosity of our listeners this year with over €265,000 donated over the course of the campaign,” station co-founder Garvan Rigby said today.

This has been by far the most successful campaign on record with double the amount of donations from previous years.

Make-A-Wish Ireland grants a wish to children who are battling life-threatening conditions.

Since 1992 it has made a wish come true for 1,700 young people.
