Vincent Browne tried to work through pneumonia and ended up in hospital

He’ll be off our screens until 8 September.

VINCENT BROWNE WON’T be presenting his nightly news programme for the next three months after being hospitalised due to pneumonia.

TV3′s biggest draw was diagnosed with the lung condition last month but continued working through the local and European elections before being sent to hospital.

RTE presenter and newspaper columnist Tom McGurk has been on presenting duties on the temporarily named Tonight With Tom McGurk programme for the last week.

The Tonight With Vincent Browne show recently lost two of its newly hired producers when veteran RTÉ producer Betty Purcell and and former Irish Examiner journalist Seán MacCárthaigh both announced they were quitting only months after joining the show’s production team.
