Online ticket seller Viagogo to employ 'hundreds' at new Limerick base

A newly built facility is due to open later this year.

VIAGOGO, THE INTERNET’S largest dedicated ticket sales website, is to build a new international operations centre in Limerick.

The new base is due to open later this year with the company having already recruited people to work at a temporary location in the city centre.

The plan for the purpose built centre was announced this morning by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton.

No specific details have been given as yet about how many jobs the new centre would create, but Viagogo’s operations manager Edward Parkinson says that the centre would eventually employ hundreds of people:

We reviewed many locations for our latest operations centre but we chose Limerick for its reputation as a place of excellence and local talent. We have already recruited in the tens but numbers are expected to reach the hundreds in due course.

The company is currently recruiting for a number of multilingual customer service positions.

Viagogo caters for customers in around 100 countries and allows people buy and sell tickets for live sports and entertainment events.

It has official partnerships with top brands like Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and the Roland-Garros French Open.

29 deaths so far this year on the roads . It shows why the guards are stepping up there checks. Please everyone check your tyres brakes , don’t speed and never drive under the influence. This accident may have nothing to do with any of them things but some deaths this year have . Let’s try and stop the toll over reaching last years figure

@Margaret Deacon: Actually Margaret you’re lucky. You and your family are safer if people drive responsibly, and a garda presence helps to enforce that.

If people obeyed the rules of the road and were responsible road deaths would be reduced, speed checks and garda check points should not be the reason you slow down, its the law just my point of view
