One of Canada's biggest emigrant hotspots has a new direct flight from Dublin

They direct flights will begin next summer.

CANADA’S NATIONAL AIRLINE is to operate a direct flight from Dublin to Vancouver next summer and they’ve a special offer to kick-off the new route.

The 10-hour journey from Dublin will see Ireland linked directly with Canada’s west coast on Air Canada’s subsidiary Air Canada Rouge.

Vancouver is one of the most frequent homes for Irish emigrants who’ve settled in Canada in recent years, so the new service is likely to prove popular.

The new route will see three flights a week (on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) between the two cities from 10 June 2016 and the service will run for the duration of the summer.

To promote the new service, Air Canada are offering a return flight offer of just under €600 return for passengers who travel between 10-30 June. The airline says that this offer is only for customers who book between now and 4 December.

A check of the Air Canada website showed flights between the two cities at as as low at €490 return during the period.

As well as being convenient for Irish people wishing to visit Canada, the airline’s president says that it will also provide a tourist boost for Ireland.

“This route is a great, convenient option for western Canadians travelling to visit the vibrant Emerald Isle with its rich literary history, arts, world-class golf and dramatic landscapes,” Benjamin Smith said today announcing the route.
