THE IMF/EU/ECB troika will issue its seventh review of Ireland’s national finances today.

Representatives of the troika have been assessing our progress under the bailout programme, as speculation grows over proposals for savings in December’s Budget.

Finance minister Michael Noonan and public expenditure minister Brendan Howlin will make an announcement on the review’s findings this morning.

After the last review, the IMF warned of slowing growth but commended Ireland on its “steadfast” adherence to the bailout programme.

“Ownership of the program remains strong despite the considerable challenges the country is facing,” the organisation said.
