Tesco announces 522 new jobs over the next year

Tesco says more jobs will be created as a result of the construction of new stores.

TESCO WILL CREATE over 500 new jobs in Ireland over the next year, it is reported this morning.

Tesco Ireland says it will create a total of 522 jobs between now and June next year, RTÉ reports.

Most of the new jobs will be in Dublin and Co Kildare and will be part of the €120 million investment in new stores.

The full break down will see 150 jobs created in Cabra, Dublin, 120 in Kildare, 80 in Rush, Dublin and 60 at a replacement store in Roscrea, Tipperary which was originally planned for last year.

As part of the overall investment programme, Tesco estimates that some 757 new jobs will be created across the country.

The supermarket giant also estimates that 548 building jobs will be created during the expansion drive.

In April, the company announced 172 new jobs, also at stores in Kildare and Dublin.
