A RECENT ADVERTISING campaign for Supervalu took a top advertising industry award in Dublin last night.
The DDFH&B advertising company were crowned the winners of the Institute of Advertising Practitioners (IAPI) Grand Prix at the industry body’s bi-annual awards ceremony at the Mansion House in Dublin last night.
The award for the ‘Say Hello to the new Supervalu Range’ campaign was in addition to the three IAPA AdFx Gold Awards DDFH&B received including for Best Integrated Campaign Judges Award for the Fáilte Ireland ‘The Fun Starts Here’ campaign, a joint entry with the firm PHD.
Awards were given to some of the best home grown advertising campaigns that have been produced in recent years including the Cadbury Dairy Milk ‘It’s a Matter of Taste’ campaign that was the brainchild of Publicis Dublin.
Ogilvy Dublin also scooped an award for their ISPCC ‘I can’t wait’ campaign while Mediavest and Nea/TBWA were awarded gold as well for their HSE ‘Quit’ campaign which highlighted the fact that one-in-two smokers will die of a tobacco related disease.
Keynote speaker Alastair Campbell, the former Downing Street communications director, spoke at lengthy about his time working at the heart of the British government and New Labour’s various re-election bids through its own marketing and advertising campaigns.
“Part of the answer for the economic recovery is going to come from the creative industries, and advertising is at the heart of that,” he commented.
IAPI chief executive Tania Banotti pointed out that all of the campaigns were home grown initiatives: “All our winning campaigns are produced by IAPI member agencies based in Ireland – all of which have been effective in changing consumer behaviour and achieving results.”.
