TWO MEN HAVE been arrested after eight million cigarettes and two truck were seized in Co Louth. The ‘B&H’ brand cigarettes – with an estimated retail value of €3.4m – arrived into Dublin Port on a container from China.
Officers from Revenue’s Customs Service seized the cigarettes near Drogheda, Co Louth and gardai arrested the two men as part of the investigation. They are preparing a file for the DPP.

AN ITALIAN MAN has been arrested at Belfast International Airport as he attempted to smuggle £10,000 out of the country in his underwear. The man was attempted to board a flight to Rome last Friday when he was detained by security.
He was unable to provide a reasonable explanation for the sterling and euro notes discovered in his pants.
The cash has been detained, but will be returned to the man if he can prove that it was sourced legitimately.
