Salesforce.com to add 100 jobs at new Dublin office

The company, which was in the top 20 of Fortune’s Best Companies to work for, says the jobs will be in the areas of sales, marketing, IT and customer support.

CLOUD COMPUTING COMPANY Salesforce.com are to add 100 new jobs as it opens its new offices in Leopardstown in Dublin.

The company, which is in the top 20 of Fortune’s Best Companies to work for, says the jobs will be in the areas of sales, marketing, IT and customer support.

The announcement was made this morning by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny together with Salesforce.com senior vice president David Dempsey and Barry O’Leary of IDA Ireland at Salesforce.com’s new 50,000 square foot office complex at No. 1 Central Park.

The office is Salesforce.com’s second in the capital having also been based in Sandyford since 2000.

Speaking at the announcement Taoiseach, Enda Kenny T.D. said that the new jobs are a strong endorsement of Ireland’s strengths in the digital sector:

Ireland’s reputation as a ‘digital island’ acting as a European hub for the digital industry is growing rapidly as more businesses like Salesforce.com expand their operations here. The company’s leadership in social, mobile and cloud computing aligns with the Government’s policy and Action Plan for Jobs in these fast growing sectors.

Kenny added that the Government supported ‘Big Data’ centre INSIGHT is working across UCD, NUI Galway and DCU to exploit what he described as Ireland’s “distinct advantage” in this sector. He added:

In addition, by 2018 we aim to have the highest percentage of computing graduates as a proportion of all tertiary graduates. We are working towards this through a process of increased programme places, re-skilling and conversion courses and through targeted migration of people with key skills. The aim this year is to deliver an additional 2,000 ICT graduate-level professionals available to industry.

Salseforce.com, which has also been named as the most innovative company in the world, has over 100,000 customers worldwide and Dempsey says Ireland has played a key role in the their success in Europe:

Salesforce.com is driving a massive transformation in the technology industry, showing companies the power of social and mobile cloud computing and enabling them to revolutionise the way they sell, service, market and innovate and transform into customer companies.
