Well MB, ‘Piercy’… My point is that there are a lot of people expecting the government to do everything for them rather than realising it’s a recession, there’s nothing the government can do to influence that and it’s gonna be down to demand increasing and private companies thinking they can increase profits by taking more people on. Dipping into the pension fund is a short term effort but it’s not gonna help in the long term. Them’s the cold, hard facts.

Or we could have Sinn Féin in power, raid the pension funds completely just to keep people in work building a load of crap nobody needs?

It is definately NOT the role of business to create jobs. Jobs may be created as a result of business activity but that is never the objective.

It amuses me when I hear politicians demand that the Government create more jobs. All any government can do is create the conditions for business to thrive and then hope that jobs will follow.

Alicante is far from chavy. Have you ever been there?

Most of the places from south Barcelona to south Spain are packed with Brits/French/Irish/German and Dutch that are looking for cheap drinks, and go crazy if the waiters only speak Spanish and dont serve fish and chips…. just look at the amount of people wearing football jerseys in those places…

Also, a vast majority will go to Benidorm… so yes those flights will attract a fair amount of chavs

Been near by and other places in Spain. Benidorm is a s### holl and the vast majority of people will endup there, not in Alicante. When I said a destination for chaves i meant an area not a specific city. Valencia will be the same. I mean how many people do you know that have been in Cordoba or Sevilla? Probably none cause those places dont attract mass tourism but they are beautifull… same as Sicily.

Or Granada. Most beautiful city in Spain.

As for Benidorm I agree it’s a kip full of English yobs but Alicante is a beautiful spot that I keep meaning to go back to.

Would love to see Ryanair use Cork more, but no doubt red tape and snobbery in Cork airport is preventing this. Love the Kerry to Frankfurt Hahn flight, nice simple airport, no frills but friendly staff and efficient airport, would be great to fly from Cork though.

Well Will, Cork does have 2.5 million passengers a year, that’s bigger than Shannon and second only to Dublin Airport who own Cork airport( not great for competition hey)

Oh I’m not saying anything against cork. It has twice as many Ryanair routes than knock and that’s great. All I’m saying is, not to forget this route also operates from knock.

Yes Vincent I flew that route myself from Kerry. Reminded me of the old hassle free Cork airport. Thinking about revisiting Bonn using that route soon
