PhoneWatch to create 230 jobs in 12 regions across the country

The new roles are in engineering, sales and operational areas of the business.

THE HOME SECURITY monitoring provider, PhoneWatch, announced today that it is is creating 230 jobs in Dublin, Cork and ten other regional offices around the country.

The new roles are in engineering, sales and operational areas of the business, with recruitment commencing immediately.

PhoneWatch currently employs 150 people in Ireland.

The expansion of the company comes after it was acquired by Norwegian company Sector Alarm Corporation last year.

Regional jobs

The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Minister Richard Bruton welcomed the jobs announcement stating that a key part of the government’s Action Plan for Jobs is to deliver a regional spread in job-creation.

Eoin Dunne, Managing Director, PhoneWatch said they were excited about their “ambitious plans” for growth in the Irish market.

“We are establishing a regional office network to bring us even closer to our customers and to enable us to deliver an enhanced and superior service to our customers. Our strong regional presence will also be strategically important to us as we introduce innovative new products and services to the Irish market and continue to grow our business here”.

Probably for the same reason why you don’t take photos at funerals – not really a time for celebration.

Sales jobs are commission only, if doing door to door anyway.

    Hi Kevin,

Just wanted to let you know I work in sales and get a wage plus commission. Not all sales jobs are commission only. Hope it’s the case for these jobs.

…strange how a minister could ‘sell’ as success the fact that an increase in crime has made Phone Watch necessary……….

My comment suggesting that PhoneWatch appears to be replacing An Garda Síochána across the nation seems to have upset one of the other as it has been removed, but the fact remains that you will more likely see one of their vans on the roads than a Garda car. My apologies if this item was sponsored by PhoneWatch as I have no wish to upset the advertisers.

230 NEW JOBS??? How can this even make the news? Phonewatch just let go about 200 people through the sub-contractors they had installing for them. Hire people… Make the news. Let people go… 12months later… In the news for hiring people! FFS.. How can companies get away with this. Ministers clinging on to ANY hope of recruitment in the country just to get a picture is PATHETIC!! Hewlett Packard in Leixleip do the same tactics.
