THE CAREERS NETWORKING site LinkedIn has come up with an interesting list this week: the 10 items and office trends most likely to disappear by 2017.
From a survey of 7,000 office workers worldwide, LinkedIn found the following are likely to go the way of the typing pool:
- Tape recorders
- Fax machines
- The Rolodex
- Standard working hours
- Desk phones
- Desktop computers
- Formal business attire like suits, ties, tights
- The corner office (for manager types)
- Cubicles
- USB thumb drives
Which office items and tools are on the rise?
According to the same survey, it’s tablet computers, flexi-hours, smartphones and cloud computing.
