EMOJIS TEND TO be universal, but Finland has decided to go a step further and create its own nationally themed emojis.
Its tourism board has created its own themed emojis, designed to show the “weirdness and the strengths of the country and its people.” There will be 30 emojis in the set, but it’s kicked things off by unveiling the first three in the collection.
The most noticeable one is the inclusion of a much-loved device, the Nokia 3310, which it calls “The Unbreakable.”
The device is one of the most successful mobile phones of all time, having sold 126 million units worldwide, and is fondly remembered for its durability as well as its battery life.
The other two emojis are a naked couple in a sauna and a heavy metal fan that represents how there’s “a small headbanger living inside of each Finn.”
The full collection of emojis will be gradually revealed starting on 1 December as part of a Christmas calendar. The emoji collection will be available for anyone to download.

Many a night spent staring into that screen with one eye at 3am trying to figure out if me ole doll had broke it off with me or was saying she loved me. My default text was always I love you, just in case like !!

Loved it. A proper hard as nails little thing. Charge it every 100 years. That’s all it took. You didn’t look at it 100 times a day either.

I had the first Nokia phone the” Brick” phone , I used to get the office staff to ring me nearly every hour to make me look important. The problem then was none of my mates or even directors of other companies had got them either. I was classified as a quare individual for having one!
I had a huge brick-like phone which weighed down my bag (and my shoulder!), a real effort to drag around. I was the only one with a mobile phone for a long time and had such a job to persuade friends to get one, “sure who’d be ringing us?” “why would we need one?” “I’d never use it”. Ah they’ve come so far, some of them! Others still squint at a minuscule screen and ask “wait now, what do I press?” One even flipped the phone into the air trying to answer it! By the way, that first phone took 13 hours to charge, THIRTEEN HOURS!!
