'No agreement' on deal to end flights under Aer Arann brand

The company said a move to operate entirely under the Aer Lingus name is yet to be finalised.

AER ARANN HAS played down reports it is to stop flights under its own name and operate entirely under the Aer Lingus banner.

The company said a deal was yet to be finalised on the move, which would see the expansion of the existing franchise in which Aer Arann runs flights under the Aer Lingus Regional brand, using planes in Aer Lingus livery.

An Aer Arann spokesperson said: “No agreement has yet been reached. We will be making an announcement as and when it happens.”

The carrier currently operates Aer Lingus Regional flights from Dublin, Cork and Shannon to a number of destinations in the UK and France.

Under the Aer Arann brand, flights run from Dublin, Kerry and Waterford to London, Manchester and the Isle of Man.

According to the Irish Times, these flights would switch to the Aer Lingus Regional livery under a new arrangement which is reportedly expected next week.

Aer Arann CEO Paul Schutz resigned last month, with the airline saying his departure was made “amicably and for personal reasons”.
