TODAY WILL BE the busiest online mobile shopping day of the year, as new research reveals Irish people are planning to spend 3.4 per cent more on presents this Christmas.
Some 22 per cent of Irish people are shopping from a mobile or smartphone this year, a survey has shown.
The research was conducted by eBay.ie, which found that Irish shoppers will be the biggest spenders this year, splashing out an average of €512.43 this festive season
Sweden follows closely behind, spending an average of €420,86.
Irish people will spend an average of €296 on Christmas gifts with most of the budget being spent on children. The figures are much higher in comparison to our European neighbours, Italy, who will spend €195 on presents.
Items that are expected to be flying off the virtual shelves on this busy Monday include iPad Minis, Furby Booms and Breaking Bad boxsets.
