MARKS & SPENCER has launched its first Irish website.

One of the UK’s biggest retailers, M&S has had a presence in Ireland for over 30 years but has not offered any online shopping until now.

In a press release about the new website, the company noted that its online presence in Ireland was strong with almost 50,000 fans and followers on Facebook and Twitter.

There are currently 21 Marks and Sparks shops in Ireland, including the original on Mary Street which opened in November 1979.

The new site will sell clothes and homeware but will not include a food section. A 10 per cent discount is being offered to first time customers for a limited period.
