THE ONLINE PROFESSIONAL network LinkedIn is to create 100 new jobs at its Dublin operation over the next 12 months.
The IDA said in a statement that the roles would range from graduate to experienced, and include jobs in customer service, finance and operations.
Announcing the jobs, the International HR Director at LinkedIn Connie Gibney said: “Ireland is increasingly one of the world’s centres of talented people with international language skills and experience in working for fast-growing internet companies”.
Originally founded in California, LinkedIn recently hit the 100m users worldwide mark. Of those members, more than half are based outside the US.
CEO Jeff Weiner wrote on the company’s blog that about one million new users are signing up for the network every week, “the equivalent of a professional joining the site at faster than one member per second”.
It generates its income through user subscriptions, recruitment services and advertising. Jobs at the company can be found through its website.
IDA Ireland CEO Barry O’Leary said that Ireland now hosts the top five leading global internet companies.
