LG and Samsung unveil similar 105-inch TVs on the same day

Same size, same curved screen, and the same screen ratio.

IT’S EITHER A coincidence or bad timing on someone’s part, but both Samsung and LG announced they will be releasing 105-inch HD TVs on the same day.

Not only are both HD TVs the same size, both companies claim that it’s the largest curved TV ever made. Both have an 11 million pixel screen resolution, and a 21:9 ratio screen for enjoying TV, movies and gaming.

Here’s how the two TVs will look.

LG’s TV allows for information to be displayed on the side without covering up what you’re watching. Samsung’s model includes what it calls the “Quadmatic Picture Engine,” which displays all content in ultra-high definition regardless of its source.

Neither Samsung or LG has revealed how much their TVs will cost, but considering that LG’s 84-inch HD TV costs €20,000, chances are you’ll need some very deep pockets before you can afford either one.

Both will be revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in Las Vegas at the beginning of January.
