There's a new place for Irish workers to vent their spleens about their jobs
IrishJobs.ie is taking a leaf out of Glassdoor’s book.
ONE OF IRELAND’S biggest jobs sites will allow people to leave anonymous feedback about their employers.
IrishJobs.ie has launched a company reviews section on its site around three months after dedicated employer review platform Glassdoor rolled out its Ireland-specific portal.
Both are based on anonymous reviews in which users can list the best and worst parts of working for major businesses across the country.
The jobs site’s new section offers star ratings for five key aspects of employee life, including companies’ ‘culture and people’ and ‘work/life balance’. The company said the comments and feedback would be moderated.
IrishJobs.ie general manager Orla Moran said company reviews let future employees understand “the story of a workplace” from the perspective of people who worked there.
“Not everyone wants a pool table or a bean bag,” she said.

Peer review-based sites, like the all-powerful Tripadvisor for travel reviews, have been criticised for making it easy for users to provide fake feedback, whether to artificially inflate ratings or unfairly trash reputations.
However, while acknowledging there’s nothing to stop people leaving false reviews, the sites claim the volume of reviews on their sites give readers the opportunity to sift out the real feedback from overly fawning or critical material.
