THE NEXT GENERATION of Apple’s much sought after iPhone will arrive this October according to the latest reports.
Tech blog All Things Digital reports that contrary to rumours of a September launch, the iPhone 5 will be out in October and late in the month according to sources.
There had been talk last week that the new iPhone was expected to land in September with the China Times reporting that suppliers were preparing 400,000 trial run iPhone 5 units, with an initial shipment of 4 million units.
Staff at iPhone’s US carrier AT&T were also reported to have been told that their leave requests for the end of September had been denied due to an “event blackout”.
As with most Apple products, there have been a flurry of rumours ahead of the launch of the next generation iPhone with little doubt that it will be faster, with the A5 processor that Apple currently uses in its iPad 2 expected.
The camera resolution will improve from 5 megapixels to 8 megapixels, according to other rumours.
There have also been plenty of rumours about the design with a tear-drop shape with an edge-to-edge screen first envisaged by Joshua Topolsky over at This Is My Next, appearing to be the most likely design.
But it looks as if we’ll have to wait until October to find out.

I am more looking after iOS 5 release than new device, as iOS will bring some amazing changes and still run on existing devices, I am not going to fork out 600 euros for new phone every year as they keep releasing them at this pace…nuts, sponging the people big time. There should be new device every 3 years roughly in my opinion anyways, but free software updates in between more frequently to extend functionalities all the time.
I couldn’t agree more, today the OS is much more important than the hardware, compare to 10 years ago. I remember have spent fortunes on phone but the UI was just crap!! Mark my words this is now over, before buying a phone I wanna know what’s inside!!!

Deffo getting iphone 5 brilliant phones, I have a android at the min but trying to transfer music from netbook to phone is terrible, even nokia was simple to do that.
Will be interesting to see what improvements will come with the new iPhone. I’ll buy it for sure but as mentioned about the new version of iOS will be more interesting.
