IT’S AS THIN as a pencil. You can hold it one hand. It won’t love you like a puppy, but it’s close enough.

The iPad Mini display has the same screen resolution as the iPad 2, it carries the new lightning connector and it features a Facetime HD camera on the front, and a 5MP iSight camera on the back.

Clocking in at 7.2mm thin, and weighing 0.68lbs, a 16GB WiFi iPad Mini will start shipping to Ireland in just a few weeks with a pre-ordering service opening on Friday. It costs $329 (the cheapest yet).

  It’s 1.8″ smaller than an iPad, but 4″ bigger than an iPhone, so… No is the answer, it seems a perfect size, and more likely to take walkabout IMO

  @Ohboy: I believe Tony Stanley is giving his opinion without being blinded by “beauty” There should be more of those out there. Saying “How can you be so mean to such an attractive girl.” suggests it’s okay to be “mean’ to an unattractive girl/lady.

Still think its a big phone. Most ridiculous sight is people out taking pictures with their Ipads. Look like complete tools. Apple have millions of tools waiting to buy anything they launch and then updating it to make what U have out of date.

  iPad 2 had an a4 chip, 6 months later quietly upgraded, New iPad (3) A5 chip released march loudly upgraded today to A6x and more than likely a screen and chip not manufactured by Samsung, they’re lessening their dependence on Samsung. And to be honest I’m still extremely happy with my iPad 2. What has me excited is the new iMac as thin as a MacBook Air.

  David, not talking about the MacBook Pro (which I bought one last week) I’m talking about the iMac it’s truly stunning what they’ve done with it, MacBook wasn’t for me btw for kid for college she needs a development environment, my iPad covers my needs when remoting and general surfing

1024 X 768 on a 7.9″ screen will give a higher Pixels Per Inch than the ipad 2 and will look great. It will have the Upgraded optics that the newest 10″iPad has which is what I personally was interested in it having for HD recording & Facetime. We have 2 nexus 7 tablets in the house for the kids already and an iPad2 and I think this is definitely worth the extra few quid over the other tablets in this class.

  m009s on amazon, got one each for my boys ages 7 and 5 for xmas, 16gb for 89 pound sterling.
  
  eldest has an iPad 2 for secondary school, it was compulsory.
  
  hubby has the nexus 7 we all prefer the nexus to the iPad. what made us order the m009s was the great reviews amazon has on it and it was way cheaper than the nexus. should be here on Monday, will check them out before I put them away for xmas.
