HMV reopens its first store on Henry St, Dublin today

The three other HMV stores will open their doors on Thursday, September 12.

HMV RETURNS TO the high street today, with the opening of its flagship store on Dublin’s Henry Street.

The three other HMV stores – Dundrum Centre, Dublin; Liffey Valley, Dublin; and the Crescent Shopping Centre, Limerick will open their doors on Thursday, September 12.

Restructuring company Hilco Capital, which bought HMV earlier this year in a deal worth around €59 million said that HMV will exchange valid HMV gift cards, which were not honoured during the receivership of the old HMV business, for gift cards in the new business.

Today’s reopening features a live performance by Irish band The Strypes at 12.45pm. HMV say they will be hosting regular live performances in it branches and are inviting aspiring bands who are interested in performing in-store to contact them.

“The opening of the Henry Street store marks the start of a busy and exciting period for HMV and Xtra-vision, with our other three HMV stores opening next week, and our dual-branded Xtra-vision and HMV stores launching in locations throughout Ireland during the month of September,” said Larry Howard, CEO of Hilco Capital Ireland.
