Google knocks Apple off the top spot to become the world's most valuable brand

The company is worth €116 billion, having increased in value by 40 per cent over the year.

GOOGLE IS NOW the world’s most valuable brand after knocking Apple off the top spot.

The findings, which was part of the BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brand 2014, saw Google increase in value by 40 per cent, making it worth €116 billion.

Apple, which topped the rankings for three years, decreased in value by 20 per cent, leaving it with an value of €107 billion.

The report put this down to a growing perception that it’s no longer “redefining technology for customers,” such as a lack of new product launches which captured the imagination. Google, on the other hand

Following it was B2B company IBM, which is worth $107 billion while Microsoft, which announced its latest Surface Pro tablet yesterday, grew in value by 29 per cent to give it a value of €65 billion.

Other companies which made the top ten included McDonalds (€62 billion), Coca-Cola (€58 billion), Visa (€57 billion), AT&T (€56 billion), Marlboro (€48 billion), and Amazon (€46 billion). Facebook took the No. 21 spot, rising in value by 68 per cent to €26 billion while Twitter made its debut with a value of €10 billion, placing it at No. 71.

The top 100 companies combined are worth €2.1 trillion, the value of which increased by 49 per cent since 2008. The industries which saw the greatest increase included Apparel, cars, retail, luxury and technology.

Yes, it is definitely time to change the browser so if Google has moved into that position.

    Try http://www.millionshort.com
…Very cool, it removes the first returns that you always get on a search, so you can get rid of all the ads and rubbish that is normally on the first fold

And Isaac Newton took one bite out of the Apple……

The one bite taken out of the Apple is a symbolic representation of a rebellion against god. Genesis 3:6… Also the rainbow is symbolized God’s mercy and the covenant made after the flood….(To have this incorporated within the forbidden fruit.) ….On top of all this the first apple computer sold for $666.66.

    Hairy lemon …. I don’t have IPhone

I had the 4 and 5 both from new…and never liked them… Hated ITunes navigation.. I jailbroke the 4 through Cidia which gave me a bit of freedom until I decided to get their latest updates which screwed everything up all over again with an updated baseband. .

Sold the 5 a few months after purchasing it and switched over to the Galaxy 3 and then HTC M7… Would never look back or touch one of their devices again …

Being tied into a proprietary system is not for me,

Well Both systems are in cahoots with rising Fascist Western Governments with backdoor technology capable of letting the authorities spy and monitor all your movements.

Apple were the first to come out with the sealed enclosure encasing the battery. Of course Apple heads all thought this was cool and trendy…. in reality it was the first phone on the market that could be switched off by the user and then powered up by a third party unknowingly.

I see HTC and other phone companies following suit with this….

The real fun will start when full blown cashless NFC kick in… every thing you purchase will be logged, monitored and location of purchase pinpointed. Obama will love NFC…

Apple Helps Cops Hide Police Brutality.

The rapid emergence of smart phones with high definition cameras leads to consequences for law-breaking cops. Recently, law enforcement throughout the country has been trying to pass laws that would make it illegal to film them while they’re on duty. But Apple is coming out with a new technology that would put all the power in a cop’s hands.
