Google pulls 'Bomb Gaza' game from app store after backlash
The Android game, which allows players to be the Israeli army and drop bombs on the city of Gaza, was removed from the Google Play store after complaints were made.
A GAME WHICH allowed players to pretend to be the Israeli military and drop bombs on the city of Gaza has been removed from the Google Play store after a public backlash.
Bomb Gaza, which was released for Android, was released on 29 July and had been downloaded up to 1,000 times before it was taken down.
The blurb gives the instructions “drop bombs and avoid killing civilians,” and it also had a low maturity rating as well, meaning that the game was also available for children to play.

While it received 46 five star reviews, written reviews slammed the game for trivialising the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Google Play’s content policy states that it doesn’t “allow content advocating against groups of people based on their race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, or sexual orientation/gender identity,” resulting in the game’s removal.
Similar games have been removed from the store including Gaza Assault: Code Red, a game that allowed players to “take control of an Israeli UAV equipped with powerful weapons in an attempt to secure the region.”

That’s just disgusting.
Israel will never recover from its recent murderous rampage. The people of this world are condemning Israel in record numbers and this games removal is testament to that fact.
They??? I think that’s a bit far. Removing “them” from the face of the earth has been tried before. But I think individuals and leaders who are committing the war crimes should be held responsible
“drop bombs and avoid killing civilians,” not very realistic then is it. I’m all for a bit of dark comedy but some people unfortunately don’t know where the line is, or aren’t funny about crossing it at least. Like most apps these days it was probably intended to make a quick easy buck.
Someone on XFactor is told they cant sing people at home cry . Babies deliberately targeted by bombs from a superpower and all the sensitive people dont care play video games about it. Welcome to the age of mind programing.
Jack, “Babies deliberately targeted”? Really? By “a Superpower” of 8 million people? Really? The ONLY people that deliberately target babies are Islamic terrorists. Until the Israelis built their wall it was a regular occurrence.
Israeli official calls for concentration camps in Gaza and ‘the conquest of the entire Gaza Strip, and annihilation of all fighting forces and their supporters’
The Dailly Mail? Really? Any chance of a link to that in a real paper? Such extreme comments. Can’t understand why they were not picked up by a proper paper. Hmm. Really makes you think..
I’m no a fan of the Daily Mail, but they can’t just put words in people’s mouths.
An Israeli journalist wrote a blog on the Times of Israel website under the title “Is Genocide Permissible?” and had to take the blog down and issue an apology.
Avigdor Lieberman called for Palestinians to be drown in the Red Sea, while he was in government.
I’m reading a book written by Israeli soldiers about their time serving in the occupied territories, and to be honest, it wouldn’t surprise me if some Israelis’ thought of the Palestinians as the Germans thought about Jews.
Did he say it in English or was it translated? Do you not think it’s odd you don’t have a link to it in a proper newspaper -just one link from a paper renowned for misrepresentation, and some other link from some nothing website?
L Connors … The “Proper Newspapers” you are referring to are those that are CENSORED and serve Zi0nist interest…approximately 90% of Western Mainstream Media.. I am even surprised that the DM had this published and wouldn’t be surprised if they are ordered to retract it.
Ah yeah. That old gem. Tell me, do you generally quote the Daily Mail or just when they say something you agree with? My guess is you despise the Daily Mail. The problem with the world is nobody actually wants to hear anything that might challenge their views. And I’m not talking about this conflict. I’m talking generally. A world of morons who will quote any source at all as long as it reinforces their beliefs rather than challenges them.
Do you trust the Daily Mail as a source? Yes or No? I suspect your answer is longer: yes when it tells me something I want to hear.
Well it will be hard for more to follow considering no MP has quit. Poor research and misrepresentation there. A job at the Daily Mail beckons. Ha. Now a source from the Iran…
“As opposed to ‘Exodus’ in the forties, the coming decade’s Exodus will meet a strong Jewish State of Israel; an Israel that opens its gates to the new immigrants and protects them – if it will only realize who it is and who are its enemies…
I repeat once again: 1.5 million Jews will be immigrating to Israel in the coming decade. They will change our entire geo-political perspective from its very foundation.
For every miserable family in Gaza, there is a Jewish home being vacated in Paris and Belgium.
The Land of our Forefathers is waiting with open arms for every Jew in Paris and Belgium – and the rest of the world.”
He wrote this, he feels the need to take the homes of “every miserable family in Gaza” to house 1.5 million emmigrants. A truly nasty man with warped ideals.
“Why bomb Gazans if we can instead help them to actualize their wish to leave?
All kinds of estimates of the number of Arabs in Israel have been publicized. The following are the exact numbers as per the Demographic Institute of Yoram Ettinger. This is the only authoritative, professional institute, which cross-references its facts.
In Judea and Samaria there are 1.7 million Arabs.
In Gaza there are 1.3 Arabs
East Jerusalem: 300,000 Arabs, citizens of Israel
1.4 million Arab citizens of Israel outside Jerusalem
Now let us put these numbers into context. According to this morning’s economic news, as per the precedent of the Second Lebanon War, Operation Protective Edge in Gaza will cost at least 10 billion NIS in direct and indirect costs.
In Gaza there are 1.3 million residents, which are approximately 200,000 households.
The average salary in Gaza is 350 NIS per month. Let’s say 500 NIS per month. In other words, the money we have already spent to bomb Gaza, killing many Gazans in the process, could have been used to give each household 50,000 NIS – approximately 100 monthly salaries or 8 years of work – to help them to comfortably actualize their desire to emigrate.
As soon as we think out of the box, there are solutions to this conflict.”
It’s mere muddying the waters. The DM is a dreadful paper, but his words are taken from his own website, as I have linked above. L Connors is using the tactic of belittling, but fails to recognise where actual links are provided. Weak, in a word.
To say an MP has resigned is far more significant than an unelected peer giving up her role as what is essentially a junior minister role in the second house. How often have you heard her mentioned before today? She’ll be out of the minister role after the election anyway. It’s only a PR exercise by her to try and make herself look good. If Philip Hammond resigns then you can get excited.
You are really trying hard to debunk here L Connors. What’s your agenda? First the Daily Mail, then the calling of a minister an MP. You are woefully obvious in your attempts.
L Connors the PR is a government minister resigns because of Gaza, hard to spin that any other way dude but try if you wish.Very few outside Israel and the US buys the spin being pushed.
Yawn. Expecting people to question sources and get basic job titles right is not an indication of an agenda. I guess I’m just a bit irritated going on to a topic which is about innocent people dying and having to see morons who know nothing talking about it like they’re experts.
Nothing to do with disagreeing with someone’s views.
Saying an MP had resigned and insisting you’re right when in actual fact a minister and peer has resigned does make you a moron. Sorry to break that news to you.
I provided the correct link, with other links about Moshe Feiglin. You ignored that and then followed a different track to move your argument forward. I particularly enjoyed this line:
“I’m just a bit irritated going on to a topic which is about innocent people dying and having to see morons who know nothing talking about it like they’re experts.”
Then you say, “Did he say it in English or was it translated? Do you not think it’s odd you don’t have a link to it in a proper newspaper”
If you were an expert you would clearly know how to find the original source. Yet you just try to debunk the person. It is quite easy to find where he made his statements, so saying “morons who know nothing talking about it like they’re experts” you must include yourself in that. You argument is weaker than a third cup of tea made from a single tea bag. You contradict yourself, but seem to believe you are above the “morons” here. You’re not mate, you’re one too.
L Connor I never claimed an MP resigned, I stated a minister the fact you could not read my posts speaks volumes about you own short comings.
You call me a moron, the irony.Does that make you illiterate moron?
Go back and read your response to me saying an MP had not resigned. Take care now.
And to the other guy, I wasn’t claiming to be an expert. I did two things: I suggested the Daily Mail and the iranian state TV station should possibly be questioned as sources. And two that if someone is hailing a resignation as significant they should at least know who has resigned. That’s all. reasonable, no?
You did state that it irritates you when others speak like their experts. You questioned the sourcing, yet if you read the actual articles you would have seen the references to the original source. Instead you act like an expert stating they are not credible sources without ever checking the articles yourself. Of course you may have read the article and chose to ignore the sourcing, which makes you an antagonist, or you didn’t bother to read the article, which makes you an ignorant.
So in short, no, that’s not reasonable. It’s unreasonable.
Nicholas, I totally agree and what normal minded person would think any other way, but look at the amount of red thumbs ….. this is what we’re up against…. dumbed-down, brainwashed thugs!!
Game still available and free on other sites. Just looks like a rehashed sideways scrolling eighties game. I think I remember it coming out with a different title back then. The backgrounds are blocky and it is slow moving from viewing the demo video.
This is either terribly bad taste or a significant propaganda coup.
The lads will be downloading this in their hundreds of thousands because it has been taken from the store and the resulting publicity.
The Jews control the money markets, Diamonds, Gold, entertainment, etc. money and power corrupts, Hitler knew this and the Jews know this, experience tell us to try and legislate for fairness and a balance of power and money. Ireland is following their example with bankers, developers and politicians on huge salaries while people loose their homes and que for food.
Would you prefer to live under communist rule? My feeling about Ireland right now is that all of us in the middle are looking after the needy (I’ve no problem with this that are actually in need) but also the scroungers who don’t have the want or indeed intelligence to “control” the money markets, diamond, gold, entertainment, etc. They are a shower of lazy takers who give nothing and take everything. Tell me something, how many jews here in Ireland or indeed in Europe are scrounging (again I am NOT pointing to those who are genuinely in need) off the state?
By the way – I think that this game is disgusting but for MindfulIrish to use this article to say that “the jews” are being unfair because they control everything is truly shocking to me…
Fear – you have totally missed my point. Did you read the OP’s comment? He is pushing for equality and balance because he perceives the jews having better jobs and more power than the rest. So he would like to see everyone being treated the same. I didn’t say it … he did.
He then equates the irish bankers, developers & politicians to the successful jews around the world, trying to blame the jews for the fact that there are people living in poverty.
Go back to your Pro Hamas Propoganda manual and seek a better rebuttal Fear.
Jenni – It would be impossible for me to go back to the Hammas Handbook , as I utterly oppose ALL VIOLENCE – and I also oppose anyone who does !
Please Don’t confuse people who oppose Genocide and War Crimes as supporting any Terrorist Organisation – the fact that we oppose Israeli Terrorism , should tell you that surely ?
Ok – yesterday I said I hadn’t seen anyone referring to “the Jews” as one homogenous entity and trying to hold them responsible because of their ethnicity.
It seems that has changed.
I don’t support Israels actions, but I have the sense to realise that it doesn’t equate to “the Jews”, I’m actually quite disgusted that anyone went there to be honest.
Evil people what sort of humans sit in deck chairs with popcorn and eatch othee himans being bombed and cheer on the streets when kids are killed and then make a video game of killing innocent Palestinians sick people
The Muslim world was full of people cheering in the streets when they heard the news The Twin Towers had been destroyed killing 3,000 innocent people. Here’s some Palestinians doing just that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrM0dAFsZ8k
This just throws a small spotlight on some of the utter crunts we are supposed to look up to and admire, because they are “computer literate” and thus, a cut above us all. The sort of mental and emotional dead head who would devise a game like this because human suffering is just a joke and does not touch them, that’s who.
I wonder how Fognostical , Charles , Kris O Kay Kay and the other Apologists for Genocide and War Crimes by their “Heroes” in Israel , will explain this one to us ?
I must compliment the British Foreign Minister for resigning – Pity our Foreign Minister doesn’t do the same , due to our Governments inactivity , to even send home The Israeli Ambassador ?
Our Taoiseach admiration for the Fascist Genocide Regime in Israel , knows no bounds , with his Friends of Israel Group in Teach Laighin ,egging him on, to fully support them !
Well Jenni – I didn’t address you in fairness , as you have sometimes shown some unblinkered heart, on various threads , relating to the Genocide of Israel in Gaza !
I have seen some decent debating by him … I think he treats certain people with disdain because they treat him with the “here’s Charles, the shill for the embassy” bs. It’s very tiresome wading through all the discrediting tactics used by some …
