APPLE HAS BEEN given a temporary reprieve from a ban on the online sale of iPhones and iPads in Germany.
BBC News reports that the suspension could last days or weeks but that sales of the products have begun already.
The ban was brought in after a patent infringement court ruling in December, which was brought by Motorola Mobility.
Techradar explains that it centres on the alleged infringement of a 3G patent.
It says that Apple is using the patent, which belongs to Motorola, but it has not licensed it from the company.
Apple said in a statement that it had appealed the ruling “because Motorola repeatedly refuses to license this patent to Apple on reasonable terms, despite having declared it an industry standard patent seven years ago”.
Motorola Mobility said it will continue to pursue claims against Apple.
