Gardaí investigating 'spying' of INM chief executive

INM chief executive Gavin O’Reilly was being trailed by a British security firm, according to a Sunday Times report.

GARDAÍ HAVE OPENED an investigation seeking to establish who hired a British security company which has been spying on Gavin O’Reilly, the chief executive of Independent News & Media.

report in the Sunday Times says the surveillance was spotted at the INM complex at Citywest in Dublin on Thursday, when a car was seen trailing that of the chief executive, son of the former CEO and largest shareholder Anthony O’Reilly.

The car followed him from Citywest for about 11 miles, and waited for the chief executive after he pulled into a garage forecourt.

The trailing incident came a day before INM’s annual meeting.
