Waterford-based tech company to create 100 jobs in €7m boost

FeedHenry, which helps companies to build apps that share data through the cloud, will expand in Waterford and Dublin.

A CLOUD COMPUTING company is to create 100 jobs over the next two years in Waterford and Dublin.

FeedHenry helps companies to build apps so that employees and customers can share data in the cloud.

The company currently employs 40 people in Waterford. The new roles will be split between Waterford and Dublin.

The jobs are being created as part of a €7 million round of investment led by Intel Capital, Kernel Capital and other investors including Enterprise Ireland.

Chief executive Cathal McGloin said recruitment for software engineers, project managers and business analysts would begin immediately.

“This investment will allow us to accelerate our growth plans across Europe and North America, and continue our commitment to a research and development base in the south-east.”

The company was originally founded at Waterford Institute of Technology but was spun out in November 2010.

“FeedHenry is a great example of how a research project can grow to become a successful international business, attracting venture capital backing,” said jobs minister Richard Bruton, welcoming the news.

“Crucially, it is doing this in the South East, a region which has suffered badly from unemployment over recent years and which we have targeted for support through our South East Plan.”
