AN ONLINE FARMING network expects to create between 80 and 100 jobs over the next three years.

Farmbud, which is currently under development, plans to hire part-time and full-time staff in sales, administration and project development positions.

The initiative has been launched by Farming Internet Services Ltd., an Irish-owned company with offices in Longford, Galway and Newry.

Farmbud.com aims to provide an online and offline networking system for the national and global agricultural community. It will offer information on shows, jobs, machinery and property, as well as industry news.

Sales and marketing manager Lyndsay Eccleston said Farmbud was “pleased it had grown to the extent that it can contribute more robustly to the provision of employment in every corner of Ireland”.
