European Commission
This is the body responsible for proposing legislation, implements decisions, safegaurding treaties and the general day-to-day running of the Union. This body is similar to the government's cabinet. It is comprised of 27 commissioners, one from each member state, commissioners are expected to represent the interests of the Union as a whole rather than the interests of their home state.
