THE FORMER chief executive of Anglo Irish Bank, David Drumm, had between 20 and 25 bank accounts during the time he ran the bank, a bankruptcy court in Boston heard today.
RTÉ News reports testimony given in the court, which is hearing Drumm’s application for bankruptcy, which heard that Drumm’s personal finances were in “a chaotic state” when he was in charge of the bank, which was nationalised shortly after the end of his tenure.
Asked why he had so many bank accounts – and why he never seemed to keep a running total of his total assets and liabilities at the end of each month – Drumm said he could not offer an explanation for either point.
The bankruptcy trustee has asked him to supply further documents.
