DIGITAL TV will commence in Ireland in October. RTÉ is investing up to €70m in the operation that will provide up to nine channels (RTÉ, TV3, TG4 etc) including a digital teletext service. While the service will be available throughout the country customers will have to purchase a set-top box for €100 to use the service.
