Couple in court over €70m unpaid BoI loans

Bank of Ireland takes couple to court, claiming they owe over €69.5m in loans for commercial and residential properties.

BANK OF IRELAND HAS BEGUN court action against a Dublin couple over almost €70m in unpaid loans, RTÉ reports.

The bank claims Brian O’Donnell, Mary Pat O’Donnell, and the companies in which they have a shareholding, owe them millions in property loans.

It is claimed they owe €800m to a number of different lending institutions around the world.

The O’Donnells claim BoI said it would be flexible in its repayment arrangements and say it has put them under undue pressure to repay the loans.
