ENDA KENNY HAS gruffly told the Dáil that he did not discuss the content of his College Green speech, prior to the address of President Obama, with the US president before delivering it. Micheál Martin, pressing Kenny on the speech, said he was not referring to the ‘plagiarism’ row over Kenny’s remarks – but rather his failure to discuss allegations that the US intervened to stop Ireland from burning its bank bondholders. Martin joked that Kenny’s speech, in other regards, “paid homage to the policies of the outgoing government.”
