OVER 100 JOBS in construction and project management in Australia are being offered through an Irish recruitment drive.
JobContax is holding several days of interviews from 18 – 25 November to fill a range of engineering and construction jobs sought for a major Aus$1 billion gas pipeline project in north-western Australia called the Gorgon Project.
The project is being undertaken by Chevron Australia and Exxon Mobil.
The recruitment firm’s CEO and founder Karen McHugh told TheJournal.ie today that once the company makes an offer to a prospective employee, it will begin the visa process on behalf of the applicant. She said that the four-year visa would cover the applicant and their dependants, meaning their spouse, partner or children would be eligible to work in Australia too.
The gas project is expected to take five years and McHugh said that anyone who finished their four-year contract would have the option of staying in Australia and applying for permanent residency.
The jobs on offer include positions for civil project engineers, site managers, construction foremen, and site safety advisors, with salaries ranging from €80,000 to €175,000. More information can be found on the JobContax site.
The company involved will also cover flights and relocation costs and McHugh said a third-party company would provide information for successful applicants on housing, banking and schools.
