Gardaí found the drugs with an estimated street value of €350,000 during a search operation in Castledermot in Kildare last night.

It’s understood medical services attended the scene. The incident caused delays to trains between Dublin and Waterford as a bus transfer system was put in place between Athy and Carlow.

GARDAÍ IN KILDARE have arrested a man after a drugs raid in Athy. The man, in his 20s, were arrested yesterday evening after a van was stopped and herbal cannabis was seized during a Garda operation at Cardington, Athy, Co. Kildare. The drugs had an estimated street value of €96,000. The man is currently detained under Section 2 of the Drug  Trafficking Act, 1996, at Kildare Garda Station.
