Apple's iPad 2 to be unveiled tomorrow amid heightened anticipation

The new tablet computer will be unveiled tomorrow ending months of speculation.

APPLE WILL END the long wait for the release of the second generation of its hugely popular iPad tablet with the expected unveiling of the iPad 2 at an event in San Francisco tomorrow.

As we reported last week, there were initially rumours of the release being delayed and then counter rumours that the launch was in fact imminent.

Now tomorrow, finally, all will be revealed.

The event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco  at 6pm GMT with it set to focus almost exclusively on the release of the iPad 2 which has been the subject of numerous rumours about what updates the new version might feature.

The new model is expected to be thinner, more powerful and have a brighter display as well as a front facing camera.

Apple Insider reported last week that the company will make the iPad 2 available almost immediately.

The original iPad sold nearly 15 million units after it was released last year and demand is expected to be just as high this time around.
