THE COMPANY BEHIND one of the world’s most popular games has announced plans to open an Angry Birds themed amusement park.
Rovio has teamed up with playground developer Lappset to create a number of Angry Birds activity areas, PCMag reports. The first such parks are expected to be set up at Särkänniemi Adventure Park in Rovio’s native Finland, with further centres to be established in the UK.
“The popularity of Angry Birds isn’t restricted to any age, sex or social group, and the activity parks too will be designed to be interesting places for absolutely everyone, all around the world,” Rovio said.
The centres are expected to include spring riders, swings, sandpits, climbing towers, slides, and even a new Angry Birds arcade game.
And expect to see a lot more from Rovio: the company’s CMO Peter Vesterbacka told SFGate.com that the company’s goal was to be “much bigger than Disney”.
