THE SHELL OF what was to be the headquarters of the Anglo-Irish Bank building in Dublin is getting closer to a full refit.

The building, which was to be the jewel in the crown of what was once called the world’s best bank, will become the headquarters of the Central Bank once it is finally completed.

The Central Bank is looking for a contractor to complete various construction activities at the site on North Wall Quay, including facade design and installation, alterations at each floor level, and the fit out of floor plates.

The refit is being designed by Dublin firm Henry J Lyons and partners, which also designed other high profile public buildings such as the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin.

The site covers 37,000 square meters and consists of eight floors over a double basement.

Applicants must submit their proposal to the Central Bank by midday on 3 June. It will be the first element of a two stage process, with a contractor set to be appointed in Q1 of 2015.

Construction is slated to start in March 2015, with staff moving in to the building in 2016.
