45 jobs to go as Kerry mobile technology firm closes

Tralee based Altobridge has gone into receivership.

45 JOBS LOOK certain to go in Tralee as a Kerry mobile technology company chaired by former Tánaiste Dick Spring has gone into receivership.

Jim Luby was appointed receiver of Altobridge Limited on Monday and a statement on the company’s website says that it has ceased trading.

“The receiver is seeking urgent expressions of interest for the business and assets of the company,” the statement continues.

It is believed staff were informed yesterday that the 45 jobs were to be lost.

The company, which operated in over 30 countries worldwide and had markets in Asia, Africa and Latin America, was headquartered at the Kerry Technology Park in Tralee.

The company was founded in 2002 and has received investment from the State through Enterprise Ireland.

The company had been internationally recognised for its technology solutions that included work on developing mobile phone connectivity on board aircraft and in the provision of broadband in less developed countries.
