Aer Lingus records slight increase in passengers in October

There were increases in short and long haul passengers when compared to figures from last year.

AER LINGUS HAS recorded a slight year-on-year increase in its passenger traffic for October.

The Irish airline has announced that it flew 962,000 passengers in October of this year when its regional operations are included. This represents a 0.9 per cent increase on the same period last year.

Short haul passengers were 876,000, an increase of 0.1 per cent while long haul passengers in October of this year were 86,000, an increase of 10.3 per cent.

The passenger load factor – which is the number of seats filled on flights – increased by 1.5 percentage points on October 2011 to 79.2 per cent overall.
